The Perks of Being a Wallflower
It's strange how things can change back as suddenly as they changed originally. When one thing happens and suddenly, things are back to normal. -Charlie
Have you ever done that? You felt really bad, and then it goes away, and you don't know why. -Charlie
Not everyone has a sob story, Charlie, and even if they do, it's no excuse. -Charlie's father
And the people in the photographs always seem a lot happier than you are. -Charlie
Things change. And people leave. And life doesn't stop for anybody. -said by Charlie's father.
I am very interested and fascinated how everyone loves each other, but no one really likes each other. -Charlie
The Perks of Being a WallflowerA well quoted book I have recently read was "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" by Stephen Chbosky. The whole novel was about a freshman in high school dealing with some hard times, but getting by day by day with the help of his newly made friends and family. Overall, the protagonist, Charlie's, past has been kept hidden, along with his emotions. The way the book is written is wonderful, and almost everything any of the characters say makes you think about your own life. The whole novel teaches a good lesson on high school, friends, family, drugs, and mental and regular illnesses.
| Another fascinating feature about this book is that the movie was shot at Peters Township High School, which is where I go to school. It was interesting watching some of the fimling being done, and after reading the book, it is much easier to imagine some of the scenes and how they will take place since I know the setting so well.
